Hi everyone and welcome back, today I thought I'd do the 'My make-up story' tag.
1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
I think I was about 13/14 when I first started wearing proper makeup - natural collection foundation that wasn't the right colour for my skin, pink eyeshadow, mascara and glittery lip-gloss!
2. How did you get into makeup?
I would say it was due to having an older sister, as she was wearing makeup I wanted to copy and wear it too. After I left school I started watching youtube tutorials and got more and more into experimenting with makeup and finding what works best for me.
3. What are some of your favourite brands?
I would definitely say Nyx is my favourite, followed by Rimmel.
4. what does makeup mean to you?
To me it means taking pride in your appearance and being able to express your personality in a different way. As much as I believe people shouldn't have to wear makeup to look nice, I do think it shows you're making abit more of an effort, especially on a night out or an event.
5. If you could only wear four products on your face, what would they be?
A foundation, a powder, a liquid eyeliner and a lipstick.
6. What is your favourite thing about makeup?
I think it would be how much better it makes me feel about myself. I know it sounds shallow but I don't feel complete without it.
7. What do you think about drugstore vs. high-end makeup?
I think in most cases drugstore makeup is as good as high end, however some drugstore makeup (cheaper brands especially) isn't worth trying to save money by using as they just don't work or look half as good as the more expensive version. I think if you have the budget for high-end brands then why not try it out and see if its any better?
8. What is one tip you can give a beginner?
Don't be worried or feel self conscious about wearing makeup if your friends don't wear it. Just because they might not want to use it, it doesn't mean you shouldn't. I've been in many situations in college, work and university where my friends aren't wearing makeup, and on occasion one might act like they're 'better' than me for it but don't let it bother you. Its probably because they don't know how to do it!
9. What is one makeup trend that you never understood?
I have never understood the whole coloured mascara trend, I just think it looks abit clownish! Fair
enough for having fun with it but would people really wear it out in public?
10. What do you think about the beauty blogging community?
I am very new to the blogging community, but so far I've received a lot of support from other bloggers and received no negativity which is lovely.
Thanks to my best friend Kelly ( http://kellydianereport.blogspot.co.uk/ ) for tagging me, be sure to check her out. I hope you have enjoyed reading my makeup story.
