My updated skincare routine

Hello everybody! A skin care routine was the first thing I posted on this blog, and that was quite a while ago now and it has changed significantly as I have discovered new products which work better for me. So I thought I'd share with you today my updated skincare routine. This has been working really well for me so far and I can see an improvement in my skin already which is great, so here it is:

My morning routine is pretty quick and simple. As I cleanse properly at night, I just usually use a face wipe in the morning just to remove any dirt from overnight as well as the remaining products on my skin from the night before. I've recently fallen in love with the NIVEA daily essentials 3-in-1 deep cleansing exfoliating wipes as they're not really rough on the skin but I feel like they really help get rid of dead skin and oil from my face. I will definitely be repurchasing these when they run out.

I use 2 different moisturisers in the morning depending on what I'm doing that day. I've found that the Superdrug naturally radiant 2 in 1 moisturiser is really nice to use and makes my skin feel so soft, however it's not brilliant at going under makeup. As soon as I rub my primer in on top it starts to flake off and go lumpy, so I use this on days where I don't need to wear makeup as I'm not going anywhere. The second moisturiser I use works well underneath makeup, and its the Neal's Yard rehydrating rose daily moisturiser. This is a really nice, thin moisturiser and doesn't feel sticky and cloggy under my makeup. I probably won't repurchase this one as I love the Yes-To tomatoes one more, but I've unfortunately run out of that and I'm trying to use up products before buying any new so I'm finishing the Neal's Yard one off. I do still really like it though, it's just not my favourite.

Firstly I use the Rimmel eye make up remover to get rid of my mascara, and then I cleanse with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish which is my all time favourite cleanser. I currently have the limited edition sweet orange and clove scent which smells incredible, I really love it. This cleanser instantly dissolves my makeup in one go and leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh. I then use the Liz Earle exfoliator which is such a lovely product, its not too grainy but grainy enough to feel like it actually does something, and I really recommend this if you're after a new exfoliator. It leaves my skin feeling really smooth an definitely gets rid of all my dead skin. I follow this up with The Body Shop vitamin E hydrating toner, and I really like this product. There's not a lot to say about this as for me a toner is a toner and I cant really tell much difference between different ones, but I do like this nonetheless.

The next few products I alternate between every other night. I'm using the Superdrug naturally radiant glycolic overnight peel which I really love. In the morning my skin feels so refreshed and I definitely think it's helping with the red acne scars on my face, they seem to be getting less and less red with time. I don't want to use this every night as I don't think that would be great for my skin, so I use a night cream on the nights I don't use the peel. I'm currently using the Superdrug vitamin E nourishing night cream, which I actually mix with the Neal's Yard hydrating rose facial oil. I absolutely love both of these products and I think mixed together they work really well. They are both so hydrating and I feel like my skin is so much healthier after I use them, so I would recommend and I will be repurchasing these.

Once or twice a week I like to use a face mask just to give my skin a little pamper. I normally just alternate between different ones depending on what one I fancyand what I think my skin needs that particular day. I also like to use a nose pore strip and some chin and forehead strips just to help remove any blackheads and dirt stuck in my pores. These can get really addictive though so I try and only do these once a week.

One last product I wanted to mention is a footcare product. I suffer with quite dry skin on my heels (gross I know) so to give them a bit of a pamper I use The Body Shop peppermint intensive foot rescue and OH MY GOD this stuff is incredible! I pop it on overnight under some socks and when I wake up my feet are completely smooth with no dead or peeling skin. I highly recommend this as it works wonders and isn't very expensive.

I hope you've enjoyed this post showing you my new skin care routine. It seems to be working well for me at the moment and I can already see an improvement in my skin, so I would definitely check out some of these products if you're after any new skin care bits. Let me know if there's anything you recommend me to try, and I'll be back soon with a new post.

Until next time.
