Hi everyone and welcome back. First off I wanted to apologise for the lack of posts recently - I've had a bit of a break from the blogging world as I've had a lot going on, and I couldn't unfortunately make my blog a priority.
But I'm now back, and what a better way to return than with a beauty haul!?
After watching a lot of Boots and Superdrug hauls recently, I found so many products I liked the look of, so I headed into town to find them. I then decided to have a look around most of the makeup stands to see what I could find, and its safe to say I bought quite a lot!
First off I needed to get some more hair-dye, as I have a little root problem going on, so I picked up my normal colour which is the L'oreal casting crème gloss in the shade 316 plum. This is a lovely dark purply-black colour which I'm loving at the moment. They're normally £6 something each, but at Superdrug they were 2 for £11 which is great because my hair's too long to use just 1 anyway, so that saved me a couple pounds.
I then had a look at the Revolution stand, as I was after a contour kit. I've always wanted the NYX kit, however being a student it just wasn't in my budget when I can get one that is just as good for a cheaper price. This one was £10 which I think is really good, as there are a lot of shades and they are actually quite big and would last a while. It has one 'banana' powder, 3 peachy toned setting powders, 1 highlight and 3 contour shades. They are also really pigmented which is great. I do find these abit hard to blend out and they are a bit patchy, but I'm sure with practice or a different brush it would work better.
I then noticed there was an offer on where if you spent £12 on Revolution products, you can get a LoveTheRevolution palette (worth £8) for free! So I had a look around for something else to buy and I came across this vivid baked bronzer in the shade 'rock on world', which was £4. First off OH MY GOODNESS it is so pigmented! It's unbelievable. However it's so metallic and pigmented that it is difficult to blend out, and I'm not sure it would work well as a bronzer without looking abit of a clown with completely glittery brown cheeks. But I'm sure if you're a lot better at makeup than me you could find a way to make it work.
I absolutely love the eyeshadow and highlighter palette and it would be worth paying the £8 for if you just wanted it on its own. It has 6 eyeshadow shades that are SO pigmented, along with a missive highlighter in the middle which is gorgeous, and so far I'm really impressed with it. The offer for the free palette is on until valentines day.
I came across this prime and conceal set from MUA which has a light peach shade, a darker peach shade, a green, a yellow and a lilac shade. I've never actually used these types of shades for concealers so I'm quite excited to try this out. It was £4 which is great, but as it's so cheap I'm not sure on the quality of the actual product. I have discovered that the packaging is as cheap as it looks, as by the time I had got home the see-through bit of the lid had fallen out into the product and dug big bits out of it which is a shame.
I was also after a new liquid eyeliner, after having a disaster morning the other day when all of my eyeliners ran out at once! So I picked up the Rimmel scandaleyes thick and thin liner for 24hr wear, which was £5.49. I've tested this out and so far I'm loving it. It gives a lovely defined flick and doesn't transfer to up by my eyebrow throughout the day which I find with a lot of eyeliners. So far this is a thumbs up from me.
From Boots I got this NYX cosmic metals lip cream in the shade 'speed of light' (£7) which is a gorgeous metallic bronze. I've seen a lot of people talk about these and so I just had to get one. All of the other colours were really bright blues and greens, some greys and bright orange, which personally I would never ever wear, so I went for the safer bronze. At first I thought I'd have to save it for nights out as its very metallic, but after trying it out I think I would wear it on a normal day as it is not too in your face once its worn down a little. It is the most gorgeous shade and I think its safe to say I'm in love with it.
Last up are 2 products that I've never used before, but look so good! Firstly is the Garnier moisture bomb tissue mask, which was down to 99p in Superdrug. I've seen a lot of people talking about how much they love this, and when I saw it by the counter I just had to grab it, and I'm really excited to try it later on in the week.
Lastly is the new Batiste 2-in-1 dry shampoo and conditioner. I got mine in the cocoa and cashmere scent, and it was down to £3 in boots which is brilliant. After seeing these advertised when they came out, I instantly wanted to try them, and I'm very excited to use it.
And there you have it - part 1 of my beauty haul. Let me know what you think of any of the products, and anything you recommend, and I'll be back soon with part 2 of the haul.
Until next time.
